On my way home from work, I got off the metro at Union Station to visit with my friends George and Kelsey!!! I can't even tell you how amazing/weird/good it felt to see familiar faces. The hugs were so so so needed.

This weekend, I am DEFINITELY going to go out and about. National Mall, try and find a thrift store or two, scope out the handbag of my dreams, etc. I was telling Christophe how weird it feels to be more or less alone here, but feel very happy. I think that's a great feeling.

"I think you're great!" I started off 2011 saying that to someone who is, in fact, pretty great.

Watching snow fall outside my window = beautiful. Walking through said snow = not so beautiful, but okay with the right music (Fleet Foxes):

I have arrived.

Longest travel day ever. But I made it.
New Year's Eve was spent with some seriously inspiring people.

Some photos of my house on R Street and the bunny who lives here: Patches. My room is a horrible mess and not yet put together (still waiting on a box from Mom & Dad)

Work is really great. I get to look out the window and see the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery and see this sculpture from my favorite artist, Roy Lichtenstein.

I'm getting kicked out of my comfort zone in so many ways, but it's all really good for me. From work, to living with strangers, to feeling homesick in waves. I know that this is all really good for me. I've felt like my anxiety has taken a back to seat to just being self-confident and knowing I'm going to do well here. I really haven't felt homesick until this weekend. I just can't stop thinking about Gabby and the people I care about who continue to work everyday to make Arizona a better place.

Heading to eat thai food with the new roommates.
